Our roots run deep in hospitality, travel, and tech. Through years of working, moving around, and speaking with business owners, backpackers, and workers on the ground, we saw the same story unfold across Australia — hospitality businesses scrambling for staff, especially during peak seasons, sick leave, or when tourism just wasn’t flowing their way. Already stretched thin, they faced two problems while hiring—either no applications at all, or applications from workers who wouldn’t be around long enough. With zero time for endless interviews and onboarding paperwork, the hiring process often felt like more hassle than it was worth.

Meanwhile, backpackers and Working Holiday Makers were bouncing around Australia, looking for short-term work to fund their next adventure—but the process was painfully slow.
